Kenny and Hayley,
This shopping trolley story was hilarious. It reminds me of the time when I was at the supermarket and I had to learn to speak in my broken Hebrew. I actually had a similar experiences, but I didn’t stand my ground like you did. Now, I know how to do it.
Thanks for teaching the Hebrew lesson. It’s helpful.
Love the you tube with you and Hayley your a comedy act. Keep up fantastic work guys hahahaha! Well done! Mazel Tov! the 10 items is funny too have you been to the shuk yet? I nearly got into a fight over tomatoes! LOL hahahaha well done!
Donna wrote: “I absolutely LOVE this video that was just sent to me by Israeli FB friend. They were reading where Sally and I were talking about how hard it is to learn Hebrew and here is a really cute slice of life from their learning curve on being Scottish and making their way in the Hebrew-speaking homeland. They are also teaching Hebrew on YouTube. Think I will subscribe! “
Brenda commented on a post “Good one guys, unless you life in Israel you truly would not understand this! hahahaha well done, you guys are doing well in the good fight! Hahahaha”
“have to tell you, it is fun the more you learn…frustrating and fun…but here is a real short story.. In Ulpan (Hebrew school). They literally teach you a very important line: When you see a line, you go up front and say “I have just one question” (in hebrew) which literally means “I am going to cut in front of you and get my business done” a) I could not believe that they would teach me that. (and no I have never done it) and b) I see it happen alot….another “only in Israel”"
Mike wrote: Well Kenny, Helen and I did get a laugh out of the the video. But the supermarket is so much nicer today than 30 years ago. Just keep on going and you will pick Hebrew in 20 or 30 years with no problem.
Kathy wrote: “I enjoyed your story very much Kenny and Hayley and I’m glad you are so happy in your new life, I lived in Germany for seven year with the Military and later in France and it is fun fun fun with Languages”
Guy wrote: Keep sharing your experiences! This is brilliant. Very exciting. Wish I’d thought of doing such a thing five years ago!
Anonymous wrote: The video is hilarious! I agree, brilliant idea, please keep them up.
Anonymous wrote: ha! I just watched the video last night, in which you introduce your daughter and point out the apron! I laughed so hard. What a fun family, and I LOVE your editing to add WRONGoverhead when a mistake is made, and RIGHT plus the correct word transliterated. PS I shared your series on FB.
Anonymous wrote: Kenny, your videos are awesome. Could you try adding Hebrew text? If not to the videos (it’d probably make the screen too busy), then perhaps to your comments on the video (by the English transliteration of the Hebrew). But, anyway, I loved it. Keep up the good work.
